Traverse
Area Community Sailing (TACS)
We are located in Traverse City, Michigan.
We are a local non-profit organization, established in 1994, Traverse Area Community Sailing's mission is to provide afforable sailing opportunities to residents and visitors of the Grand Traverse Region. Only our instruction and maintenance staff are paid professionals, all other activities like the website, the newsletter, promotion, regattas and a thousand other things it take to run a first class sailk training organization is done by volunteers like you.
Below are a list of things that we could use some help with, please consider joining our team of great volunteers today!
In order to provide for low cost programs, TACS tries to use fund raisers to provide for all capital improvements (boats, site improvements, safety equipment). To do this we we need help hosting two fund raising events each year. Can you help? Specifically we need:

Every morning and afternoon parents arrive with children in tow and their are a thousand important questions to answer, we could use a volunteer to help meet and greet the parents and their sailors and answer their questions. After the sessions start the host could monitor the phones and serve as a safety coordinator for the instrcutors. Can you help to be a:
Site Host

With over 70 boats for sail training and instructors, you can guess we have a great need for people to help with cleanup, paintup and fixup of these boats. We maintain a "squawk sheet" of issues, great and small, with our boats. Do you have a couple of hours a week that you could help, just messing about with boats?
